The Summit Hill neighborhood dates from the 1860s, you'll pass by many Victorian homes, some brightly painted, some more true to the original colors. Summit Hill has always been a wealthy neighborhood and most houses have been well maintained.

Il Vesco Vino, at 579 Selby Avenue, is a family-owned Italian restaurant in a beautiful converted Victorian mansion. Their patio is a wonderful place for a glass of wine on a summer evening.

On the right is the Five Two Six Gallery. The gallery is free to visit, and exhibits contemporary works from local artists. Five Two Six is also a salon and spa, the first of several chic salons on Selby Avenue.

Bon Vie Cafe is my recommendation to stop if you pass by at lunchtime. If you want something a little more formal or a glass of excellent wine, then also on this block is the Zander Bar and Cafe, a Summit Hill icon. It's a hip yet friendly hangout with a critically acclaimed menu of self-described "American Posh" food.
