Guide Review - A Fine Grind

A Fine Grind is an excellent example of a neighborhood coffee shop. It's in the small group of businesses at the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul's Merriam Park.

The coffee is great, the baked goods are wonderful (raspberry-white chocolate muffins are not to be missed. It's a sad day when they've sold out when I visit) and their sandwiches are very tasty. A Fine Grind breakfast sandwich will go a long way towards curing a hangover.

It's a good place to get some work done. There's a lot of room in the back of the coffee shop, with plenty of tables. It's usually quiet during the day, and the other customers will probably be working too, so you can be productive and caffeinated. They provide free wi-fi and a little computer to access the internet if you forgot your laptop.

There's a huge bulletin board of local happenings, and piles of free newspapers. This a great place to gather with your friends, sip some coffee and plan your weekend's activities.
