Wonderment Natural Toy Store: Linden Hills and Grand Avenue

By Clara James, About.com

Wonderment is a gem of a toy store that opened in 2005 in the Minneapolis neighborhood of Linden Hills, and in 2008 on St. Paul's Grand Avenue.

This is a batteries-not-required store. Wonderment sells natural toys, most made from wood, fabric or other natural materials, and natural world trinkets like fossils and rocks. Plus, there are art and crafts supplies, and lots of toys to encourage creativity.

Wonderment's owners have links with Waldorf schools, and much of what's for sale fits with the Waldorf philosophy. To compliment the toys, regular craft classes are held for children and adults at both stores.

There's a large selection of dress-up clothes and props for imaginative play, and a great resource for children's costumes at Hallowe'en too.

Kids love to visit this store. Many toys are set out for children to play with, and both stores have a fun tree house to play in.
