Now you know all about the Snow Emergency parking regulations. There's more. In addition to Snow Emergency parking rules, there's Winter Parking Restrictions you'll need to know about.

  • Severe Winter Storm Warning when a severe storm is predicted, temporary parking regulations may be imposed before the snow starts falling. The regulations usually prohibit parking on the EVEN side of non-Snow Emergency routes for up to 48 hours. This is so plows can start clearing the most critical streets as soon as the snow starts to fall.
  • Winter Parking Restrictions After heavy snows, snowbanks and accumulating snow can make streets too narrow for cars and emergency vehicles. While snow is removed from Snow Emergency routes as a priority, for non-Snow Emergency routes, Winter Parking Restrictions may go into effect. Parking is prohibited on the EVEN side of non-Snow Emergency routes, and in a Snow Emergency, the parking rules change some. If Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect, and a Snow Emergency is declared, check the local media for exact instructions.
  • Temporary signs. Plowing, salting and sanding happen during snowfalls even if a Snow Emergency is not declared. Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted if necessary.
